For the Spring Festival, we are here with magnificent stone peaks, blooming flowers as well as fascinating songs and dances. Celebrative activities at Stone Forest will last from the first to the sixth day of the lunar year: a grand welcome ceremony will be held at Visitor Center Square with Guoshanhao (a kind of folk trombone) play, Dasanxian dance, gongs and drums play, and lion dance; folk artists from different villages will gather at the natural dance venue of the scenic area to show the most authentic Sani folk customs; Stone Forest Scenic Area Art Troupe will perform ethnic songs and dances at Sun and Moon Square; shows with Sani style will be performed at some scenic spots in the scenic area, and hospitable Shilin people will sing and dance to welcome visitors!

During the Spring Festival, Stone Forest Scenic Area will have the “Spending the Spring Festival of the Year of Rat in Stone Forest” activities of red envelope grabbing and lucky draw via its official Weibo account and WeChat public account. Participants can enjoy the draw and red envelope by following the official WeChat account of Stone Forest Scenic Area, forwarding Weibo and other online activities. Full fare RMB 130 per person, student fare RMB 65 per person, free admission for children under 1.2 meters and senior citizens over 70. The scope of tour includes the Major and Minor Stone Forests and Shilin Karst Geological Research Museum.

Driving

Please set your destination as “Stone Forest Visitor Center” if you use navigation. Drive along Kunming-Shilin high way to Stone Forest Scenic Area toll gate and keep driving for about 1 kilometer to Stone Forest Scenic Area Visitor Center. The visitor center is about 1 kilometer from the entrance of the scenic area. You can take a sightseeing electric vehicle or walk there.

The trip from Shilin County town to Changshui Airport takes about two and a half hours, trip from Stone Forest Scenic Area to Changshui Airport takes about two hours. Train

It takes over 20 minutes from Kunming South Railway Station (High-Speed Rail Station) to Shilin West Railway Station (High-Speed Rail Station). There are bus No. 66 that runs between Shilin West Railway Station and Shilin County, and bus No. 99 that runs between Shilin West Railway Station and Stone Forest Scenic Area.
