Why There Are Some Horizontal Grooves on the Rock?

The formation of the stone forest starts from underground. Groundwater erodes the rock through joints and crevices. As the joints and crevices widened and deepened, the rock is dissected and initial stone teeth take shape. Subsequent uplift exposes the stone teeth above ground, when the stone teeth “grow” higher, they become stone forest. Previous horizontal solution grooves made by the groundwater remain on the rock surface.
