Why did the Stone Forest join the serial nominations of the “South China Karst” to apply for world natural heritage status?
According to the Operational Guideline of World Heritage Evaluation and Selection, all the same geological landforms-which are located in the same region, shall be jointly nominated for application.
The “South China Karst” includes Shilin County of Yunnan Province, Libo County of Guizhou Province, and Wulong County of Chongqing Municipality.
