The Convention also stipulates that each contracting state can determine the cultural and natural heritage in its territory and submits its heritage list to the World Heritage Committee for approval. For all the sites that have been included as the world cultural and natural heritage, will be protected by the law of the host countries. China became the member of the Convention in 1985.
